Coronavirus Impact Statement: Indefinite Project Delay for Content Review, Publicity Planning on Hold

As you all know by now, the COVID-19 coronavirus is impacting the entire world and creating a major health crisis for millions of people. Originally it was taken as an illegal form of public scare tactics (because Wuhan which is in China) but has since been exposed as a very real (and very deadly) public threat. Because of the unknowns relevant to the circumstances as of this update (and the lack of resolution to be confirmed anytime soon) I regret to announce that I am placing an indefinite and immediate hold on the development of Mystic Advent to address the following issues:

  1. Full and complete review of existing content: An extensive reevaluation of the entire dialogue script to date will be required to isolate anything that I no longer feel comfortable with out of respect for the situation;
  2. Alternative scenario designs: Building on the first point, if there's anything where I can replace content without adversely affecting the narrative as originally planned I will do so within reason, or remove it completely if required; and
  3. Publicity and Promotional Freeze: I originally planned on making my first ever trip to PAX West later this year as a means of both personal interest and potential exposure for my work, but given the serious nature of the situation (and absent any resolution thereof) I have no choice but to cancel this plan for the health and safety of myself and others I know who may be extra sensitive to this kind of infection. All other potential avenues for publicity have also been put on hold until further notice.
Because the review process will unfortunately take awhile to both complete and resolve any issues that may exist, I can no longer guarantee a release in 2020 as I originally planned, nor can I set a new release target at this time. In the meantime, I extend my kindest thoughts, best wishes and deepest sympathy for those who have been affected by the ongoing situation.

Announcing Mystic Advent

Zero Break Design is pleased to announce that development of its first full game project is well underway. Mystic Advent is the first in a planned trilogy of divine crisis resolutions and the first complete game package to use the expertise that has been developed with utilizing the entire RPG Maker MV toolset. This project has been the works for just over two years under the development code name of Spectrum's Path (in part because the creator of Zero Break Design also identifies as such, and which is also why the Zero Break Game Design logo employs the use of a jigsaw quadrant which itself has been derived in part from the fact that the symbol is also the universally-accepted mark of the spectrum itself). The current plan for rolling out this ambitious project is for an early access release - with so much of the project already planned out, the prospect of testing it all for concurrent launch is going to be a real pain in the backside making it more feasible to roll this out ...

Unplanned Platform Reevaluation: Redacting iPhone and iPad support

In a rather unfortunate and unexpected turn of events the Mac system that was scheduled for use in creating the mobile device versions of Mystic Advent has encountered an unrecoverable system failure. After trying everything I could reasonably do (wipe config, rebuild boot sectors etc.) I couldn't get it back to working order and ultimately nothing helped. As this was the only Mac within my budget (and also because I had to do a heavy customization job to even support my workload) I have unfortunately been forced to make the hard call in canceling the iPhone and iPad versions of  the game. Obviously I am disappointed in this outcome, but the realities of indie development mean that for a test system that normally costs into the thousands to fail like this means that I basically don't have a choice . This in no way affects other releases of the game which are still on track for the November 2020 launch plan - I have only been forced to abandon iPad and iPhone due to this unfo...
